Ghostery Usage Tip: Keeping Ghosty Quiet

July 16, 2012
By Pete

Hello to all on the inter webs!

Pete here from Ghostery Product Support. I’m going to start blogging to you all a few times a month about some common topics I get through the support channels.
The past few weeks, users have been asking how to turn off the alert bubble, but to continue having Ghostery running. Very easy to do! In your Ghostery options page scroll down until you see “Display Options”. There you can modify your alert bubble settings. Turn it off, move it to different corners of your window, change the display duration.

One hint.. In Firefox this category is in the advanced tab.

In addition to the Alert Bubble, we have just implemented the Click2Play feature, which allows you to hide certain social media buttons. So if you would also like to enable or disable this feature the controls are located in the Options menu under Click2Play. Firefox users.. this options is also located on the Advanced tab.

If anyone has any suggestions for blog topics send them to support@ghostery.com, subject: BLOG TOPIC.

Hope that helps and as always… Happy browsing!

I’m so glad you told me how to change the time length of the alert bubble and move it out of my way. It has been driving me crazy because it previously blocked the area on most pages to log on or out. I moved it to the bottom of the page and shortened it to 6 seconds and I am delighted with this change.

I’m trying to find a spot where I can submit a bunch of tracking sites I think should be next on the block list. How can I get that info to you?

BTW, excellent product. Keep up the OUTSTANDING work!

      Thanks for using Ghostery!

You can send them to me at support@ghostery.com… send the names of the trackers and URL where we can go check them out.

      Thanks!
