If you see a tracker…

…report a tracker!

Hey Ghost people. We just want to remind you that if you see a tracker that you think isn’t in our (1,000+ !!)
tracker library, you can always let us know about it and we’ll put it in for you, assuming it meets the criteria. All you have to do is visit our support forums.

When sending them in, please try to:

1) Search for it in our library to make sure it’s not already there (we receive duplicates quite often). You can find the library by going into Ghostery’s options and scrolling down to the bug list. Here, you can search by name in the “Filter by” box.

2) Try to take down the URL of the page(s) upon which you found the tracker and include it in your post, so we can look for an example of it in the source code.

Additionally, please let us know if you see page elements (commenting mechanisms, videos, etc) that aren’t functioning properly when blocked. We’ve been working hard to implement “surrogate” scripts that replace code that relies on tracking with our own, and in Ghostery for Firefox (and soon all browsers), we’ve added notifications that tell you when/where content you may want to view is blocked and give you the opportunity to view it.

Thanks again to everyone who has already submitted trackers.

Stay vigilant!

The link to the support forum is broken :-( There is no TLD on it. It causes people outside the US’s browser (if its Firefox 13.0.1 and maybe other browsers/versions) go to http://www.getsatisfaction./ghostery.

When I’ve recently entered facebook I’ve noticed that Facebook Social Graphics is not being blocked! I checked my block list and it certainly is supposed to be! What should I do?

      Hi Thomas,

So you see it checked in the Blocking Options section of the Ghostery options? If you see a whitelist option.. is Facebook in the whitelist?

I also cannot get to your support forums. (I only got a 404 error that getsatisfaction could not even be found!) I want to know if Ghostery will ever and if so, when, block the Press+??? as well as researching what the tracking bugs that are blocked were designed to do. I hope you get your connectivity issue fixed soon!
