1,000 Trackers Tracked.

We hit 1,000 trackers in our library today! Each one of these represents the hard work put in by Ghostery users who report them to us and help us make sure we don’t plug in any duplicates. It’s a reminder that making a great privacy extension requires a great userbase. Also, big ups to raketten123 for suggesting we add MetriWeb to our library – whoever you are, you just won yourself a big pile of Ghostery swag. Keep on trackin’!

There really are a thousand different trackers? I would love to see an infograph connecting the dots on who owns these companies. I almost expect there to be some overlapp.

Also, this post would have done better if the focus would have been on “potentially blocked” instead of “tracked.” Tracking is what the bad guys do.

Sat down in front of my first desktop PC in 1992.

New to this sort of PC interaction. Lots to learn.

    Good site, good service.

    Keep it up.

Thank for your work on this extension and everything behind it, the service it freely provides us is simply amazing! I wish you the best and hope that you will continue supporting this project for a good while :-)
