Fix: Ghostery for Opera 0.9.3

November 15, 2011
By adam

Some Ghostery for Opera (Beta and Next) users brought a bug to our attention recently: the
dropdown menu would often appear blank. We contacted the awesome Norwegians at Opera about
this, and they said it’s on their shortlist of fixes, but in the meantime we’ve patched over the issue with a small fix of our own that should temporarily solve the problem. Get it here.

Thanks to all the users who provided feedback, and please keep the suggestions flowing!

Ghostery for chrome and firefox is having a bug list of 704 bugs in it’s database while that of opera has 697..WHY OPERA’s ghostery is not downloading the exact number of bugs to be blocked.

      Hi Husnain,

Opera’s URL filtering only supports the * (anything) wildcard, but Ghostery for other browsers matches via regular expressions, which are a more complex way of describing what to match.

Ghostery automatically converts most of its bug list into Opera’s format, but not all bug patterns make it, and some become broader in the conversion process (for example, match some-bug-name-*.js instead of matching some-bug-name-[two numbers].js).

Does anyone have any copies? Seems it has been removed:

Sorry. The page you are looking for has been deleted or moved, or it has gone on vacation.
    Please check your spelling.
