Apparently, our latest update to Ghostery had a glitch in the Setup Guide feature we made. With some users, it causes multiple tabs to open simultaneously. Ick. We’ve taken it down for the time being and are finishing off a fix. Thank you to those users who emailed us with details and brought the problem to our attention!
Anyone from 8:15pm last night on who has downloaded the update won’t experience this technical issue, but we apologize to those of you that have had a problem and appreciate you bearing with us. The problem is already actually fixed on our end, we just have to wait until the Firefox people approve it for it to be up on the add-on page.

If you are having the multiple tab-opening problem and can’t stop it, you need to start Firefox in safe mode (instructions here) and then uninstall Ghostery. Redownloading Ghostery will revert you back to the previous version and it will be smooth sailing from there until the corrected version is available for download. We appreciate you bearing with us during the glitch.
